School Board To Hold Special Meeting On July 1st To Discuss School Reopening

Miami-Dade County Public Schools will be holding a special meeting on Wednesday, July 1st, to discuss the reopening of schools for the 2020-2021 school year.

Following the early closure of school buildings and change to distance learning to complete the 2019-2020 school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Miami-Dade County Public Schools has been working to create a plan for reopening the schools in the fall.

Concerns have been growing over the infection rate of younger population over the last few weeks and the impact this could have on school reopening in the fall.

The district is currently considering several options for reopening. These range from Distance Learning to a Schoolhouse model to several Hybrid options.

The meeting will take place at 1:00PM on July 1st.
