The Assistant City Manager position has been vacant since the departure of former Assistant City Manager Ed Santamaria in September of 2021.
Parjus will assume the position on Monday, February 28th.

Congratulations Alberto. You will be greatly missed in Dade County
Congrats to a consummate professional. A gentleman in every way, who I have had the pleasure of interacting with at the Executive level on a number of high level projects and initiatives. His knowledge and vast experience has always been a value added and his immeasurable contribution a catalyst in moving these projects forward. Always responsive and responsible when called up. Wishing you well my friend.
Congratulations to the City of Coral Gables on this great hire. Alberto Parjus is a man of great integrity and good will. Consummate professional, smart as a whip and completely unselfish in his focused attention to people, projects and delivery of quality public services.
Excellent all around!
I congratulate Alberto Parjus. He is great to work with and a consummate professional. I had the pleasure to work with Alberto at the City of Miami. Coral Gables is lucky to have him. Great choice Peter Iglesias. Good luck to both of you in keeping Coral Gables beautiful.

The City Beautiful continues to hire from the cesspool of the Miami and Miami-Dade bureaucracy. The Mayor can pretend like the Sunshine Law and ethics are safe in Coral Gables, but they are not. This is no longer our town. It is Vince’s town, and based on his makeup, it is clear he is looking to perform on a bigger stage. So, croneyism, backroom deals and no bid contracts will carry the day. We will see more bad public work projects and more sweetheart deals for those willing to pay to play.

As a Coral Gables resident and a public servant, I am extremely happy for Alberto and my City Beautiful. In my 20+ years in public service, I had the pleasure to interact with Alberto both at Miami-Dade County and at the City of Miami. He is the consummate professional, both extremely intelligent and smart. Also, a great individual at the personal level. This is a great hire. Congratulations Alberto!
