It was ALL Miami for the second straight night. The offensive juggernaut just keeps rolling with another double-digit night as Miami puts up a crooked number in four separate innings. The Cane batters did not waste any time putting up a 6 spot in the opening inning. Three HRs, two being back-to-back, were on the board before the fans even had a chance to settle in for what was to be another marathon night of pure Miami power. Sixteen runs on 18 hits would be registered over the course of the next 8 innings. Over the course of the last three games, the synchronized offensive machine has scored a total of 51 runs on 55 hits, with the pitching staff only allowing 3 runs. Once again, it was a total team effort tonight where everyone in the starting lineup recorded at least a hit with 5 of the 9 players with multiple hits. Overall, the team batted .439 and with RISP 6-17(.353). Another banner night with Three doubles, one triple, and 4 HRs to light the Light. The lone run for the Bisons came in the second inning which was unearned. By the third innings, Miami fateful was already celebrating a series win with the score of 10-1 having Miami batting around sending 10 players to the plate in the first and third inning. In the 7th they would bat around for the third time adding 4 more to the already 10 on the board and sealed it with an exclamation point for a final two in the 8th. The American Bison is listed as Near Threatened. This American Bison (NDS) has been put on the Endangered List facing a SWEEP come tomorrow.

Changes to the bottom half of the batting order to reflect those that excelled in Friday’s night blowout. Dominic moved up one spot to bat 6th with the return of Dorian Gonzalez to the starting lineup at second batting 7th. Ariel Garcia 3-6 last night with a pair of HRs batting 8th and listed as DH in place of Zach. Playing right and batting 9th is Renzo Gonzalez replacing Gaby in right because of the pitching matchup. Karson Ligon on the mound.

Karson Ligon still not looking himself got off to another rough start allowing for a pair of singles and hit batter to the load the bases. Just in the first inning, the Bisons almost matched their total hit output from last night. If not for another web gem catch by Jacob Burke going to the warning track to haul in the 3rd out things could have been a whole lot different.

The Bisons were quickly put on notice in the first to expect another brutal night of hitting coming off the Miami bats. Like last night, CJ got things rolling with a single to left. Edgardo, 2-21 in his last 5 games has been struggling to try to find some open grass to record a hit. He did one better, forgetting the grass and sailing above it for his 5th HR of the season going 420’to right center. Not to be outdone, Yoyo also found the sweet spot, his sailing 404′ also to right center. 3-0 after three batters and more to come. Two quick out followed by Max and Jacob before Dominic adds his name to the HR Derby, his going 427′ to right paying a visit to the parking garage. Walk and single by Dorian and Ariel set it up for Renzo to clear the bases with his first triple to the RF corner. Like last night a 6 spot in the first having CJ doing double duty ending the inning.

With control issue in the first, Karson struggles in the second starting with a lead-off single and a walk. A failed SAC to advance the runners partially accomplished what they set out to do when Karson catching the failed bunt tried to double up the runner at second but instead throws the ball into the OF advancing the runner to third on the error. Single followed scoring (unearned) the runner from third for the Bison’s only run for the game.

Canes answered in the third going the small ball route of batting around with 5 singles, a walk, and a hit batter. Dorian opened the 4th with a single followed by Ariel and Renzo doing likewise to load the bases. CJ SF to left scored the first run and two batters later Yoyo’s single brought in the second run. Max walked to reload the bases and Jacob’s single added two more to the scoring. Bases would get reloaded for the third time with Dominic getting hit and Dorian who started it all with a single ended the 4 run inning flying out to left.

Karson would remain through 5 but not his best outing control-wise. Although only giving up a solo run which was unearned through his own undoing, the Bison hitters got to him each of the 5 innings with a total of 7 hits. Two walks and a hit batter tonight you can add to his resume. Three strikeouts total.  He is going to have to do better if he intends to hold down the Saturday spot.

Looking to win points was Ronaldo Gallo who came in relief striking out 4 of the 6 batters faced without giving up a hit. Jordan Dubberly and Rafe Schlesinger each pitched an inning only giving up one hit and striking out 3. The BP was solid tonight.

The night wasn’t over for the Miami batters. After an uneventful 4-6 innings, they return in the 7th with another flurry of runs. Ariel opened with a walk and Renzo gets his 2nd HR of the season going 371′ to right center. A walk and single by CJ and Edgardo set the wheels in motion with an error by the 2B scoring one and a PB for the 4th run of the inning.

In the 8th the final two runs coming from a pair of doubles by Zach and CJ(RBI) and Yoyo with a single. The storyline was not the hits but the at bat of Renzo Gonzalez. Coming to bat all he needed to complete the cycle was a double which has not been seen in 19 years; last completed by Gaby Sanchez. 1-2 count Renzo hits a deep ball to right center and grabbed by the CF in a shoe string catch taking away what would have been the cycle.

The 9th goes quietly for the Bisons with a 13 pitch inning, 3up/3down, by Rafe Schlesinger coming off an injury that had him sidelined for over a month to cement the series with a 16-1 final score.

Five batters having a multiple hit night. Edgardo Villegas 2-4(HR,2RBIs);Yohandy Morales 3-6(HR,3RBIs);Jacob Burke 2-4(double,2RBIs);

Ariel Garcia 2-3; and Player of the night Renzo Gonzalez 3-5(triple,HR, 4RBIs). Doubles: Gaby Gutierrez and Zach Levenson. HR: Dominic Pitelli.

Miami has been impressive the past three games and has shown dominance at the plate as well as in the field and on the mound. Looking at completing the SWEEP with the first pitch at NOON.

  1. Hmm it seems like your blog ate my first comment (it was
    extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I’m thoroughly
    enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to the whole
    thing. Do you have any helpful hints for beginner blog writers?
    I’d definitely appreciate it.
