For the last 63 years, the Venetian Aquatic Club has been offering swim lessons for children and adults at Venetian pool.
The club, which provides the American Red Cross ‘Learn To Swim’ program, is made up of volunteers with a passion for water safety.
Former President of the Club, Jill Galliano, has been an 18-year member. She told Gables Insider that “our volunteerism allows the City of Coral Gables to offer our lessons at a reduced rate to help promote our mission of water safety!”
She added, “we were recently honored by the City with the renaming of their city funded scholarship program in honor of one of our dearly beloved long time members, Sonia Dallas, who passed away Dec 2021. It’s an amazing ‘Learn to Swim’ program with American Red Cross trained teachers and one of the ‘best kept secrets’ in our community!”
An enthusiastic Galliano continued, “learning to swim is essential at any age! The Venetian Aquatic Club volunteers have shared their American Red Cross ‘ Learn To Swim’ program with the community for over 60 yrs! We offer children and adult swim lessons at any skill level. We teach beginners to feel comfortable in the water and build confidence and improve on skills for the more advanced swimmer. Our mission is spreading the importance of water safety throughout our community. Come join us at the Venetian Pool!”
