Suspect Arrested In Sunday Morning’s Miracle Mile Shooting Incident

As reported by NBC 6, Coral Gables Police Department has arrested a suspect in the shooting incident on Miracle Mile early Sunday morning.

According to the arrest report, Jostin Esnayre Gonzalez, 27, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, discharging a firearm in public, improper exhibition of a firearm and criminal mischief. Gonzalez is currently on probation for aggravated stalking.

On Saturday, September 19th, just after midnight, Coral Gables Police Officer Christian Crespo, on routine patrol on Ponce de Leon Blvd, heard five gun shots near the intersection of Ponce de Leon Blvd and Miracle Mile. Officer Crespo secured the scene, found no injuries, interviewed witnesses.

A BOLO (Be On The Lookout) was sent out and at 1:30AM, Officer Vazquez, found Gonzalez who matched witness’ descriptions at the intersection of Valencia Avenue and Douglas Road.

Witnesses identified Gonzalez. CGPD was also able to corroborate witness accounts by using area video surveillance footage.

A canine search was conducted, but the .380 firearm used in the incident was not found.
