Actors’ Playhouse at Miracle Theatre has long been a staple of the Coral Gables Community. Located on Miracle Mile, the community theatre features not only live productions, but also offers classes for children as young as 5 years of age and for adults.

FALL SESSION
September 18 – October 25, 2021
The safety of our performers and staff is always the highest priority at Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre. Our health-related plan for Fall Session includes temperature checks, mandatory face coverings, hand washing, regular sanitization of all common areas, staggered drop off and pick up times, classes limited to a maximum of 15 performers, and dedicated instructor placement in our large spacious theatres.
SATURDAY SCHEDULE:
Let’s Make Believe (Ages 5-8)
9-10 a.m. Fee: $275
Acting classes for your young performer that will stimulate their imaginations, introduce role playing through the use of props and costumes, encourage concentration and begin to help them focus their boundless energies.
Musical Theatre (Ages 8-12)
9:15-10:15 a.m. Fee: $300
Prior singing, basic dance, acting training and performance experience are suggested for this course. Emphasis is on proper breath support, diction, musical theatre dance steps and acting styles for musical theatre through performance of songs from the Broadway Repertoire. Retuning students receive more difficult challenges in these areas.
Just Act (Ages 8-12)
11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Fee: $350
This class is designed as an introduction to performance. Communication skills and self-expression are enhanced through vocal and physical exercises, theatre games and the development and presentation of personal monologues.
Advanced Musical Theatre Workshop (Ages 10-18)
BY AUDITION ONLY
11:15 am-12:45 p.m. Fee: $350
Students are required to have performed in our Advanced Summer Camp or complete an audition to enroll. This performance-oriented workshop features advanced work in vocal production, musical theatre dance and acting through performance of pieces from the Broadway Repertoire.
MONDAY SCHEDULE:
Adult Acting (Ages 18 & Older)
7:30-9 p.m. Fee: $375
Taught by Theatre for Young Audiences Director Earl Maulding
Beginning Level: An introduction to the basics of acting and character development using improvisation, monologues and scenes. Classes will also develop communication and presentation skills for the professional.
Intermediate Level: Classes delve more deeply into character development and specific acting styles. Perfect for continued advancement of presentation skills and to further establish the aspiring performer. Advanced Level: A one-act performance experience! Actors at this level will spend eight classes rehearsing and polishing one-act plays for a public performance.
