Anderson and Menendez Elected

What has seemed like an eternity of a campaign season has finally come to an end. On Tuesday, April 27th, 7,275 voters cast their votes in the Coral Gables runoff election to elect two new Commissioners to the City Commission.

Rhonda Anderson won 72.93% of the vote to replace Vince Lago on the City Commission. Anderson has served on the Planning and Zoning Board and ran on a platform of stopping overdevelopment and increasing resident participation.

Kirk Menendez will replace Pat Keon on the Commission. He won his seat by 351 votes. Menendez has served on the Parks and Recreation board and been involved in the Youth Center for years. His platform was one of smart development.

The new Commissioners, along with Mayor-elect Vince Lago, will be sworn in on Friday.
