CGPD Arrests Burglary Suspect

On November 4th at 1:31PM, Coral Gables Police officers responded to a call of a potential burglary in progress at 1044 Coral Way.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers were greeted by neighbors who had witnessed the suspect on the premises and provided a description.

Neighbors had witnessed the suspect entering the backyard of the property and video surveillance at the property shows the suspect attempting to open rear doors of the house. After being startled by witnesses, who yelled “thief”, the suspect jumped the fence and fled the scene on foot.

Police dispatch issued a BOLO (Be On The Lookout) with the suspect’s description.

Following an area canvass, officers found a subject matching the description on the intersection of Coral Way and Anderson and detained him. Witnesses subsequently identified the subject as the alleged perpetrator and police formally arrested Trayvond Christopher Bowerbank, 24.

Bowerbank has been charged with Burglary of an occupied dwelling and possession of burglary tools.

CGPD posted on twitter: “Great arrest by CGPD! Subject identified as Trayvond Bowerbank, attempted to gain access into a home on Coral Way. CGPD was notified and a BOLO was distributed from the video. Another Officer spotted the subject and took him into custody. He is charged with Burglary.”
