City announces COVID-19 Small Business Grants

Last week the City of Coral Gables Economic Development department launched a small business recovery grant for small businesses within the city.

In an email to registered businesses the city said:

“All of our local businesses have been greatly impacted by the unprecedented effects of the COVID-19 pandemic – but none more so than our small businesses – the backbone of our local economy and the job creators. Since our founding, Coral Gables businesses have been known and admired for their unique character, distinguished customer service, and classic products and services, all while creating an incredible sense of place.

The Small Business Recovery Grant (SBRG) is designed to financially assist businesses that demonstrate they have experienced a negative financial impact as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We encourage you to apply for this grant program today so that we can continue to support you – our valued business community. That way, you can keep doing what you do best which is serve our community with distinction.”

  1. How would the grant process work for a business that runs a second office in Coral Gables and also lives in Coral Gables. I noticed the application process asks for a certificate of use or occupational license but Regus is a shared office space.
