We should be concerned about the seeming buy-out of this blog by MG Developers. Notice the lack of coverage of their converting a full city block of affordable apartments to pricey condos, displacing lower income residents. Merrick knew that the city had to be open to all people, but this commission is hell-bent on making it a city of the haves only. The have-nots or have-a-little be damned.
I will give commissioner a 100 in public speaking. Being a resident for 43 years in the 600 block of Almeria I have witnessed a total transformation of what is today our neighborhood. No politician has ever knock our door to find out our opinion in the area development?. In sprite of this, they sure do come election time to introduce themselves. I wish success to both of you in your endeavors.
When Jorge Fors ran for election, he promised no over-development.
When he was elected, he voted for more and more big buildings.
Obviously, he is a liar.
Also, the residents did not want the mobility hub.
As a commissioner, he approved it.
Obviously, he didn’t care about democracy.
I will not vote for him in the next election.
