Official City of Coral Gables Notice
Raimundo Rodulfo, P.E., the city’s Director of Information Technology and Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) received the Globant Awards: Digital Disruptors, in the Transformation Catalyst category for the North America Region. Organized by digitally native technology services company Globant (NYSE: GLOB), this awards program recognized individuals around-the-world who have championed change and internal disruption through digitization, innovation by leveraging data, while operating in an agile way and adapting seamlessly to new market realities. Rodulfo is one of seven chosen in North America who stand out at the frontline of the digital revolution in North America, and one of 22 globally.
Under Rodulfo’s leadership a five-year Smart City Roadmap was developed, and a Smart City Ecosystem was built. He worked in close cooperation with the community, city leaders, and all city departments throughout the process. The Comprehensive Smart City Roadmap includes smart districts, innovation corridors, citywide digital infrastructure, state-of-the-art smart building technology infrastructure, fiber optics corridors, resilient/high-speed network/telecommunication infrastructure, and public Wi-Fi networks.
“Raimundo’s work has helped Coral Gables improve response times, customer service and productivity metrics and efficiencies, while reducing crime and accidents using predictive analytics,” said Peter Iglesias, Coral Gables City Manager. “Additionally, our sustainability team has also been able to leverage technology to reduce carbon emissions and energy consumption. We look forward to continuing our cutting-edge technology innovations that benefit our residents and business and improve quality of life.”

The 22 awardees were selected from more than 2,200 nominees from throughout Europe, Asia, Latin America, and North America. In addition to Rodulfo, other technology leaders from well-known global brands such as Kraft Heinz, Airborne International Response Team and Universal Parks & Resorts were recognized.
The winners were selected by a judging panel featuring leaders in the technology industry, distinguished executives, and entrepreneurs. The judging panel included: Donald Hicks, Vice President of Trust Policy and Programs, Airbnb; Linda Rottenberg, CEO & Co-founder, Endeavor; María Pinelli, CEO, Strategic Growth Advisors; Michele Lezama, President & CEO, NACME; Jeff Schumacher, CEO & Founder, NAX Group; Wences Casares, CEO, Xapo; Martín Migoya, CEO and Co-founder, Globant; and Patricia Pomies, Chief Operating Officer, Globant.
