French Bistro, Le Parc Café, Coming To The Coral Gables Country Club

The City of Coral Gables has reached an agreement with an operator for the Coral Gables Country Club’s Café.

At the May 31st City Commission meeting, Asset Manager Zeida Sardinas announced that the City was in agreement on a concessionaire agreement with Ahmed and Veronique Youbi for operation of the location formerly known as Liberty Caffe.

The Youbi’s have over 30 years of experience in hospitality. They are the former owner/operators of Le Crepe Bistro in South Miami and Cafe Bonjour.

The new café on the south western corner of the Coral Gables Country Club, at the intersection of North Greenway and Granada Boulevard, will be known as Le Parc Café.

According to staff’s presentation, they sought an operator who met the following requirements: “Small business family operated and owned. Talented, qualified and experienced concessionaire. Loyal customer base and established industry presence. High quality, traditional and affordable French cuisine. Strong business relationships with suppliers and vendors.”

The Concessionaire Agreement is “based on gross sales revenue split. City provides/maintains the interior set-up and equipment. City oversees quality control, menu selection, and pricing structure. Concessionaire will assist in supervision of kitchen space during catering events. Initial one-year agreement with one additional five-year term subject to City Commission approval.”

The menu is expected to include quiche, sandwiches and soups along with in-house baked pastries and ice cream.

At the meeting, Mayor Vince Lago asked that offers such as the Tuesday 1/2 off gelato be reinstated in the new café. Staff explained that they have retained full control and will work on this.

No opening date has been provided yet, but staff explained they are working to secure an opening as soon as possible.
