International Coastal Cleanup Day This Saturday

Official City of Coral Gables Notice

Get ready to join millions of volunteers around the globe for the Ocean Conservancy’s 36th annual International Coastal Cleanup – the world’s LARGEST one-day volunteer effort for our oceans and waterways.

Join Keep Coral Gables Beautiful on Saturday, Sept. 18 on land at Cartagena Park and Matheson Hammock or on the water at the Riviera and US1 launch site. If you live in Gables Estates, Old Cutler, or Islands of Cocoplum, join your neighbors for a neighborhood cleanup within your community. To register, click on your preferred site.

There will be prizes for the strangest find, best group photo, and various scavenger-hunt style contests. Community service hours can also be provided.

The Miami-Dade ICC is a collaborative effort, organized by VolunteerCleanup.org, and made possible by the generous support of tidal sponsor Covanta, with additional support from Banesco USA, Blackstone Charitable Foundation, Miami-Dade County RER-DERM, Pubbelly Sushi, WPLG Local 10, and with special thanks to the Benjamin & Gloria Joannou, Jr. Family Conservation Fund.
