In the spirit of the original Bavarian cultural experience that began 219 years ago in Munich, Germany and which is today considered the world’s biggest folk festival, chef owner of Fritz and Franz Bierhaus and founder of the Coral Gables Oktoberfest, Harald Neuweg, offers his own original take on the classic celebration.
“It’s a fun, cultural, ADMISSION FREE event for young and old as well as a food and music festival with a German vibe,” said Upper Austrian native and French trained Austrian Chef Neuweg.
Founder, Harald Neuweg will kick off the 11 day event with the opening ceremony on October 3rd at 6pm followed by an ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET of Austrian and German delicacies and the 2019 Benediktiner FestBier.
Live music entertainers flying in from Europe include Die Edelsteiner, Die Wilden Kaiser and Gruppe Gastein all from Harald’s home country of Austria. In addition to this fantastic line up, Die Fesche Vroni from Germany will perform throughout the Oktoberfest. VRONI will also serve as Master of Ceremonies and party host.
Music-entertainers not only sing, jodel, polka, but also have fun with the audience.
Besides the authentic Alpine- entertainment, traditional food, and ice cold German suds provided by Bitburger, there will be the annual Fritz & Franz Bierhaus anniversary party on October 10th with an all-you-can-eat Oktoberfest buffet and complimentary sixteen meter long Apfelstrudel (one meter for each year) and 16 bottles Schlumberger sparkling wine for guests. Reservation is suggested.
Event contests such as a Biersteinholding competition, Yodeling Contest and Bratwurst eating contest will be held throughout the festival. As part of the closing highlights on October 13th. There will be an Oktoberfest Raffle to benefit a local charity!

Fritz & Franz Bierhaus is located at 60 Merrick Way. Oktoberfest will run from 11:00AM to midnight from Monday to Saturday and from 11:00AM to 8:00PM on Sundays.
