On Tuesday, June 18th, State Senator Jose Javier Rodriguez and State Representatives Javier Fernandez and Nicholas Duran held a community update meeting to inform residents from their districts about this past legislative session in Tallahassee, at the Riviera Presbyterian Church.
The event was attended by residents of Coral Gables, as well as Vice Mayor Vince Lago and West Miami Commissioner Eric Diaz-Padron.

Representative Fernandez spoke about the need to protect home rule: “We must protect the autonomy of our local elected officials. We need to meet challenges without us in State Government interfering.” He also spoke to those in attendance urging for community participation, stating that, “assistance from folks that live in the district is important. If there are issues of importance to you, please reach out.”
