Following the mass shooting in Boulder, Colorado at a grocery store in March of last year which took the lives of 10 innocent people, Nathan Steinmann wanted to do something that would help save lives.
Together with his friends Trent Bush and Nick Johnson, Steinmann who is a freshman at the University of Miami, began working on a way to reduce the risk in every day life.
Putting their heads together, they created LifeTote, a Kevlar tote, which turns into a poncho.
“After months of prototyping and sewing we developed an extremely high quality and durable tote bag that transforms into a lifesaving Kevlar poncho within seconds that caters to the daily needs of virtually anyone,” said Steinmann.
The team has created a short video, shown on their website, which demonstrates how their product can change from tote to poncho in a matter of seconds.
“We’ve been working day and night for the past year building it from the ground up with no outside funding and we are finally ready to launch.”
