Reading about the bank(s) financial problems I am wondering how the rating agencies rate banks, financial institutions, municipalities, etc. Not being able to build the mobility hub, fill the trash pits and pot holes, etc concerns me. The idea of conducting a forensic audit for our City has been floated several times. “It is expensive to do so.” Is Coral Gables as financially secure as we have been told?
This should be a very easy decision. If you are happy with the way our City Beautiful is being run, the overdevelopment, the “developers over residents” attitude, etc, etc….. go ahead and vote for those candidates endorsed by those who have allowed what is going on. If you are not sure, go on line and check the financial reports from those who have gotten endorsed by the incumbents, check their attendance and their voting records while sitting on appointed boards, etc. etc. If after doing that you still believe that having a Commission voting as a unanimous block is good, go for it, vote for them! Please do not complain later.
If, on the other hand you are tired of fighting to get permits, protect our historical buildings, the excessive development, the proposed mobility hub, the executive benefits, etc, etc, vote for those that have not been endorsed by the present powerful. You have the power. Exercise it and save Coral Gables from becoming another Brickell! We are not, we hope, like other neighboring municipalities, we would like to keep Merrick’s dream alive. Let’s do it by rejecting the slate proposed by the incumbents.
If Ariel Fernandez does not win his election, the City dies.
Very important information for everyone.
THANK YOU!
We all owe Ariel Fernandez a debt of gratitude for helping us help our city.
Sincerely,
