The Coral Gables Police Department will be swearing-in seven new Police offices this week. PAC 136 graduates will be sworn in as Coral Gables Police Officers by Chief of Police, Edward J. Hudak, Jr.
The seven new officers will be given the Oath of Officers on Wednesday, May 12th at a ceremony that will be carried live on Coral Gables Police’s Facebook page at 3:00PM.
“I am confident in the abilities of these officers to serve the community. They are well educated and well trained. We welcome them into the Coral Gables Police family,” said Chief Hudak.
The department has an additional 8 recruits at the Police Academy who should be eligible to swear-in this September.

Rey Aguilar graduated from Florida International University with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and is the first in his family to attend and graduate college. | |
Melenni Alzate graduated from Florida International University with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and was awarded the academic excellence award (top in her class) at the police academy. | |
Juan De La Cruz Martinez graduated from Florida International University with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and is married with two children. | |
Daniela Fria graduated from the University of Miami with a Master’s degree in Criminology. | |
Devin Jaramillo graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. His father is a retired Police Officer. | |
Marco Michels has a degree in multi-media from Sao Paulo and became a police officer to give back to the Country that took him in as an immigrant. | |
Lakaevia Tyler graduated from Johnson C. Smith University with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and for the past 7 years has served in the Army National Guard as a Staff Sergeant. She was the class leader in the police academy. |
I praise God every day that we in the Gables do not subscribe to the “defund the police” stupidity. Hurra to these new officers that are ready, willing and able to defend and help us if the need should arise. Thank you, thank you, thank you. God bless you!
