In 1925, the City of Coral Gables was founded in the suburbs of Miami. Extensive photography is available of the early days of the City. Each home was photographed by the developers and they are available on the Florida International University’s public dPanther Repository.
However, video of the City’s beginnings is harder to find.
This week, a YouTube account dedicated to posting historic videos of locations worldwide, KailuaKid, posted a video of Miami Beach and Coral Gables from 1926.
The video includes footage of patrons bathing and canoeing in the Biltmore pool, as well as enjoying Venetian pool.
